I began this Blog with intentions of winning a prize, but during the process of writing I dug a little deeper into the meaning this book/fable holds for me.
I read the book as a child and later added it to my personal collection. Some years ago I watched the movie and then the sequel. Each time I connect with "The Secret Garden" I rediscover hidden meaning and delight in it's heartwarming tale.
The tale begins with a young girl orphaned, who then goes to live with her uncle in a sterile home. While the staff tries to occupy and console her, it is ultimately she who occupies and delights the staff as well as a lonely Uncle and cousin. The little girl is aided by an old gardener and his pet bird in the beginning, then by all those around her.
The key she finds not only opens the door to The Secret Garden, but in opening this door she unlocks a world to happier times, past, present and future.
Her efforts are not without resistance, her troubles are not over, but her persistence brings beauty and life not only to The Secret Garden, but to all those around her.
I've tended many gardens and helped create a community garden, each with it's rewards. Now as I reflect on this book, I realize the magic of "The Secret Garden" exist in our lives as well.
The magic in this, as well as many other books, is captured and displayed beautifully by an artist whose link is below. His art is inspiring and encourages us to investigate the books portrayed, a double bonus.
Check out this page and enjoy the magic inspired by the love of reading a wonderful classic book.

Okay Folks here is a desperate attempt at Blogging in hopes of winning this beautiful Vintage Microphone.
I haven't blogged in years. I quit blogging while going through a nasty divorce. At that time my life was chaos and I was having a difficult time keeping my personal troubles out of my post. I quit all of my writing as a result of that period in my life and until now, I've had no reason to blog or return to writing.
So what is so special about this Vintage Microphone that it brings me back to blogging you ask?
To begin with, it is a magnificent piece of music history. I am a huge fan of Jazz and Blues and I can picture the possibilities of many talented artist pouring their hearts and souls into this Vintage Microphone.
There is also the possibility of many an announcer/DJ calling out to the audience, with a deep baritone voice, entertaining and setting the mood of the events and it's patrons.
When I picture this Vintage Microphone I see and hear an era long gone, but revered deep in my heart and soul.
Moreover, I have an ulterior motive for wanting to win this Vintage Microphone. I intend to give it as a gift to a friend who is a music lover and DJ. I'm certain he would not only appreciate the antiquity, but also the fact that I have acquired it for him.
I do hope this blog hasn't bored you, but moved you to aide me in my quest.......
